From representing those suffering from serious injuries through no fault of their own to fighting for people harmed by dangerous products, Dixie McCollum stands ready to pursue every possible avenue for helping victims get what they need to make full physical and financial recoveries. Dixie’s practice at Richardson Thomas also includes class action lawsuits and whistleblower litigation aimed at exposing government fraud. She is licensed to practice in North Carolina, with her admission pending in South Carolina.

Before joining Richardson Thomas, Dixie was a litigator for nearly two years in the Charlotte office of an international law firm. She assisted businesses with a wide range of labor and employment issues, including wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, pay equity, and workplace safety claims.  Throughout her career, Dixie has always been a strong advocate for her clients. She pairs that determination with legal writing and litigation skills to fight for the results her clients desire.

Dixie graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law in the top 10 percent of her class. During her time there, she served as Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review, advocated for clients in the school’s Nonprofit Organizations Clinic, and served as a Student Bar Association representative. Her legal article, “Collecting Medical Debt Through South Carolina’s Setoff Debt Collection Program: How It Works and Why It Doesn’t”, was published in Volume 72 of the South Carolina Law Review. Dixie also received CALI awards for excellent achievement in Advanced Civil Procedure and American Legal History.

Her bachelor’s degree, with dual majors in international affairs and Spanish, was from Wofford College. She graduated summa cum laude, and studied in Chile, Germany, and Spain during her time at Wofford.
